This year’s Made by Google event introduced the tech giant’s latest smartphone series with the Pixel 9, Pixel 9 Pro, and Pixel 9 Pro Fold. Also landing this season is the new Pixel 9 Pro XL. All devices run on Android 14, the most recent OS upgrade, and include the powerhouse Tensor G4 processor.
Say hi to Gemini
Gemini, Google’s ultra-helpful AI assistant, is the major addition to the cult favorite phone series. It’s built to work with and grow with Android, and offers tons of real world uses.
Gemini synthesizes information across multiple platforms and understands not just your words, but your intent. This allows Gemini to deliver more valuable, useful information. Get everything done easier, like web searches, reviewing drafts, solving problems, taking and editing photos, and even using your favorite apps, like:

- Pixel Studio
- Call Notes
You can interact through Gemini Nano, a pared down version meant to run from your device or Gemini Live, a conversational version you can speak or chat with.
Gemini also helps to keep you safer online by protecting against spam and other threats. Even better, new Pixel 9 devices get one year of Gemini Advanced and 2 TB of cloud storage.

Google Pixel 9
The Pixel 9 is a phone full of firsts, with AI tools to help you take better selfies, group pics, and more. The new Add Me feature lets you join the shot by merging two photos, so even if you’re the designated photographer, you’re never left out. Use Magic Editor to better frame your shots, move objects, erase photobombers, and change or add scenery as you please.
Pixel 9 has a 6.3″ Actua display, 10.5 MP front camera with autofocus, and a rear camera with 50 MP wide, 48 MP ultrawide with Macro Focus, and Super Res Zoom up to 8x. It comes in four colors: Peony, Wintergreen, Porcelain, and Obsidian.
Google Pixel 9 Pro and Pixel 9 Pro XL
As Google’s most powerful phone yet, the 6.3″ Pixel 9 Pro was engineered for performance. The bright, high def OLED Super Actua display, and award-winning camera make it easy to take breathtaking photos and video.
And new this year, the Pixel 9 Pro XL offers all the same top-of-line features of Pixel 9 Pro in a larger format. At 6.8″, this Pixel provides more than enough visual space for streaming entertainment, gaming, and video calling.
Both Pro and Pro XL include a 42 MP front camera. The rear camera system boasts 50 MP wide, 48 MP ultrawide with Macro Focus, 48 MP 5x telephoto lens, and Super Res Zoom up to 30x. You can take brilliant photos, day and night, with AI tools to make studio-quality enhancements.
Google Pixel 9 Pro Fold
Google’s first foldable 5G phone has been updated this year as well. Along with the addition of Gemini, the slim and sophisticated Pixel 9 Pro Fold has a redesigned camera bar. With the Pro Fold’s 48 MP wide camera, 10.8 MP 5x telephoto lens, and Super Res Zoom up to 20x, you can capture more priceless moments in stunning depth and clarity. Videos sound better as well, with Audio Magic Eraser to reduce distracting background noise.
The 8″ Super Actua Flex inner display and 6.3″ Actua outer display make it easy to stay focused. Multitask on different apps with Split Screen, so you don’t have to split your attention. Work more efficiently with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold’s drag and drop capabilities, and tools like Circle to Search.
Google Pixel Watch 3
Not to be left out, the Pixel Watch 3 is ready for action. Whether you’re out strolling the neighborhood or churning up the mountain biking trails, you have Google at hand. Use Maps or Wallet, control your Pixel camera, and keep an eye on your home through your Nest camera or doorbell.
The fast-charging Pixel Watch 3 gives you up to 36 hours of use with the always-on display. Track your stats, including sleep, heart rate, and cardio load. And train for the finish line with insights to help you run smarter, not just faster.
